Traffic Wardens to Clamp Down on Rotuaari Drivers
The City Council is to be stricter on those who flout Rotuaari’s clear ‘no car’ rules.
Traffic warden Jorma Heikkinen told Kaleva that his colleagues have been monitoring vehicles particularly carefully since the street’s renovations finished.
According to the city’s rules, heavy good vehicles are allowed to make deliveries to shops on Rotuaari between 6am and 11am and no later. After that, parking on Rotuaari is completely prohibited. The only exception is special taxis transporting those who are registered disabled. Also, people who live on Rotuaari are allowed to drive through it if no other road permits entry to their property.
The wardens will be clamping down on offenders and delivering them on-the-spot fines.
