Siwa Robbery Half Solved

Posted on July 3rd, 2012 by News Editor in News

A branch of Siwa was robbed at 11am on 30th June in the Oulu suburb of Kaakuri.

Two men entered the store and threatened the shop assistant with a knife. They got away with what police have described as a ‘small amount of money’ and some cigarettes, which they also demanded.

However, the men didn’t get away with it for long. The next day the police arrested one of the robbers, a 17 year old. They are still searching for the other one.

Police have noted that such robberies in Oulu have shot up in the last year, something they have blamed in increasingly harsh penalties used by drug gangs on addicts who do not pay their debts.
