Municipal Health Services to be Cut
Oulu’s Municipal Health service will begin a series of cutbacks this week which will affect users of its Health Care Centres.
Many of the changes – introduced in the name of cost-cutting – will mean that residents have to travel further for certain kinds of medical supervision.
For example, it is likely that the number of centres in which laboratory tests will occur will be slashed from eight to just five: city centre, Tuira, Höyhtyä, Kontinkangas and Ylikimiinki. The move will force residents of other Oulu districts to travel to have these tests conducted.
