lazy bank

I've had bank accounts in 3 different countries, and I also had an account with OP when i first moved here- but I now have a Sampo account. Sampo are one of the worst banks I have dealt with. Poor internet technology (shameful in high tech Oulu!)- lots of these incidents of plain and simple banking error (although i have been lucky and avoided most), and the customer service and general attitude is poor. Very typical in fact, of any formerly state owned monopoly that thinks it just doesn't have to try and customers will merely be loyal. They also don't welcome foreigners, as they would not open an account for me until I had my KELA card. OP just needed a passport from anywhere in the world, and my address here. I had to join Sampo later on, as my joint mortgage with my wife required me to do so (again- why?!). I strangely couldn't sign it as i'm a foreigner (they actually said that), even though they forced me to open an account, I'm a permanent resident with a permanent job, and my name is on the mortgage. My advice to new arrivals here is to avoid Simple Sampo.
