A man dressed in black trousers and a white sweater tried to rob a branch of Siwa, the convenience store, on Paltomontie in Toppila on Monday evening. The man entered the shop, threatened the female shop assistant with a knife and demanded money.

The robber was forced to leave empty-handed because there was a security guard on hand. The robber escaped towards Meri-Toppila. Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

There were also two robberies last week. A man attempted to rob a branch of of Siwa in Koskela on Sunday evening but was forced to flee empty handed.
