Free, organised play ground activities are offered in five Oulu playgrounds in June. The City of Oulu organises activities for children between 4 and 10 in Myllyojanpuisto, Kontiokankaanpuisto in Maikkula, Ojakankaanpuisto in Kaakkuri, Palosuonpuisto in Pateniemi and Karjakentänpuisto in Kuivasjärvi.
Besides the traditional yard games and sport activities, the children experience arts and crafts using nature’s own materials and explore the local park flora and fauna.
The playgrounds are staffed during weekdays from June 2 to 27 between 9.00am and 12.00pm in the morning and 1.00pm and 4.00pm in the afternoon. Parents and children are welcome to register with the staff on the first day. Each day a maximum of 25 children can take part in the group activity, on the first come first served principle. (Kaleva)
