ImageOulu police ran into cannabis growers in two separate incidents during the weekend, reports Kaleva. On both occasions the police had entered the apartment for an unrelated reason. Police confiscated the plants and filed criminal reports.

Last weekend police also detained five youngsters aged between 17 and 20 on suspicion of a car theft and one attempted car theft. Police believe the group stole a car in Kaijonharju which they later abandoned in Toppila. The group later broke into another car in Heinäpää but police caught them red-handed before they got away again.

In Hietasaari another driver rolled over in a stolen car being used for joy riding. The driver had left the scene before police arrived. Police have been unable to catch the joy-rider as yet.
