Car Destroyed by Fire in a Heinäpää |

A car was completely incinerated on Friday afternoon in a carpark in Harjapäänkatu in Heinäpää.
The fire caused a lot of smoke and the burning car was totally destroyed. Another car was damaged from exposure to the heat and several others had smoke damage. The fire apparently started in the engine compartment after the owner had driven the car into the car-park. Six rescue centre units attended the scene. In another incident a woman in her thirties fell asleep at the wheel when she was returning home after her night shift in Haukipudas. The accident took place on Friday morning in Haukiputaantie near Kuivasoja School. The woman’s car crossed the oncoming lane and hit an electricity pole. There was no oncoming traffic at the time.
