To get to the start point for the Kalime trail (Kalimeen polku, 5 km) you follow the Vaalantie road on the north side of the Oulu river and turn left towards Sanginjoki. Follow the road for about 8 km until you see the sign “luontopolku” (nature trail) on the left site of the road. The road to the nature trail is a sandy road leading into the forest. Follow this for about 1 km until you see a crossing and turn right following another sign “luontopolku”. The sandy road leads directly to the car park for the trail.

When following the trail of the Kalime roundtrip clockwise, you will reach the first shelter and fireplace after a few minute’s walk. It is situated close to a small river in lovely surroundings.

The trail continues through woods and swamps to the lake of Kalime (Kalimeenlampi). On its shore there are two other shelters and fireplaces offering a good view of the lake. When continuing you will reach the cross points with the two other trails on the way back to the car park.

The trail of Isokangas is about 10 km long. The starting point for the trail is from the same parking lot as the game trail. When following the trail anti-clockwise, you go through forest landscapes to lake Isokankaanjärvi. On the shore of the lake there is a shelter and fireplaces. When continuing, you come into the moraine landscape of the nature protection area of Isokangas and finally to a crossing with the Kalime trail. To go back to the parking lot you take a turn to the left and follow the Kalime trail until the next crossing. Then turn left again to the parking lot.

Game trail / Riistapolku

The game trail is about 2 km long and leads around lake Korpilampi. To get to the starting point for the trail, you follow the road to Sanginjoki about 10 kilometres before turning left (immediately after a wooden house) onto a sandy road. Soon you reach a crossing and turn left following the sign “riistapolku”. The road then bends to the right and leads straight to the car park. At around the half-way point there is a shelter and fireplace on the shore of a small lake named Korpilampi. The trail leads around the lake and back to the parking lot.
