An anonymous, Finnish multimillionaire has hit the international headlines by offering to convert dieters lost fat into money and send it to Nepal.
For every kilogram that registered dieters lose, the philanthropist will send 15 euros to a charity for educating children in Nepal. He has pledged to pay up to ten million euros.
The generous millionaire is working with the Finnish Lutheran Church and the National Institute for Health to set-up weighing station across the country. Weight-losing volunteers must sign-up to the scheme by the end of February. Their final weight loss – and the amount of money to be sent – will be tallied at the end of May.
Any overweight adult in Finland can join the campaign. However, weight loss that falls below a person’s ideal body weight will not be paid for.
