Wind Chill Sends Real Temperatures Plummeting Print E-mail

Storms in Lapland yesterday meant that despite the mercury reading it felt as low as minus 30.

The storms, which led to treacherous driving conditions it Lapland, made it feel around ten degrees colder than it actually was.

Nina Niinimäki, of the Finnish Meteorological Office, predicts that the coming February will be one of the coldest in many years in the Oulu region, just as December and January have been.

Omigod, I feel for my girl. 
She (at 50 yesrs old) rides a bike in this. Daily. 
(Memo to self- Give her Bacon, egs, fried bread, tomatoes, sausages, then fried beans microwaved first, and butter-grilled Portobello mushrooms - which she hates - Mwhahahaha!) That'll keep energy inside.
